With the Melody Maker, you can choose from 15 classic musical selections or five different distinctive ring tones as ringer options for your corded or cordless phone - just like on many wireless phones. The extra-loud ringer has a volume control so you can set it to the volume level your prefer. Each time the phone rings, your selected melody plays and a red ringer light flashes to alert you to incoming calls. A great accessory for your phone!

Preparation
Powering the Melody Maker
The Melody Maker runs on three AA batteries or a 6V AC power adapter
(neither is included)

Using Batteries
Slide the battery compartment cover on the back of the Melody Maker in the direction of the arrow to remove it.
Place three AA batteries
(not included)
in the compartment according to the polarity symbols (+ and -) marked inside.
Replace the cover
Using an AC Adapter
You can power the Melody Maker using a 6V, 300 mA AC adapter Cat. No. 273-0313 and a size M (5.5mm x 2.1mm) Adaptaplug™ Cat. No. 273-1716

Connect the Adaptaplug to the end of the AC adapter, then plug it into the Melody Maker's
6V DC 300MA
jack.
Plug the AC adapter into a standard AC outlet.
Mounting the Melody Maker
You can place the Melody Maker on a flat surface such as a desk, shelf, table, or mount it on the wall.
On a Flat Surface
Pull up the bracket on the back of the Melody Maker until it stops, then place it on a flat surface.
On a Wall
Remove the bracket on the back of the Melody Maker by pulling it up halfway and pushing one side in while pushing the other side out. Pull out one side of the bracket, then remove the other side.
Insert the two supplied screws into the two bracket holes (hinges facing outward) and drill holes in the wall in the desired mounting location.
Place the Melody Maker on the bracket so it snaps into place.
Connecting the Melody Maker to Your Phone
Unplug the telephone line line cord from your phone, then plug it into the Melody Maker's
LINE
jack.
Plug one end of the supplied modular phone cord into your phone, then plug the other end into the Melody Maker's
PHONE
jack.
Operation
Adjusting The Ringer Volume and Tone
Slide
HI OFF LO
to the desired ringer volume setting.
Repeatedly press the up or down arrows to select the desired melody or distinctive ring tone.
Press
PLAY
to hear the selected melody or ring tone.
When a call is received, the selected melody or ring tone sounds and the red indicator light flashes.

The Melody Maker is ETL listed to UL standards and meets all applicable FCC requirements.
